Free Testing Offered for National HIV Testing Day

In recognition of National HIV Testing Day, Black Hawk County Public Health is partnering with Walgreens and Greater Than HIV/STDs, a public information campaign from KFF, to offer free and confidential testing for HIV, Syphilis, and Hepatitis C on Friday, June 27, from 11 a.m. to 6 p.m. at Walgreens, 1850 Logan Ave., Waterloo, IA 50703.

No appointment is necessary, and all services will be provided on a walk-in basis. Testing is fast and provided by trained public health professionals. While supplies last, individuals who complete a test will receive a free $10 gift card.

This local event is part of a nationwide effort to reduce the stigma around testing and increase awareness of prevention, early detection, and treatment options.

Black Hawk County Public Health also offers year-round STI/HIV testing and education at its clinic and satellite locations. For more information on those services, visit Black Hawk County Public Health’s website for STI/HIV Testing Services or call (319) 291-2413.
