COVID-19This weekly news brief provides updated information regarding the current status of COVID-19 vaccine efforts in Black Hawk County. Today Black Hawk County Public Health announced a Vaccine Incentive Program beginning June 11 and running through June 30.
COVID-19Black Hawk County Public Health is launching the Black Hawk County Vaccine Incentive Program which includes a raffle of 20- $500 gift card baskets. To be eligible to win, recipients must be 18+, live in Black Hawk County, and get their first dose of COVID-19 vaccine between June 11- July 29. Four prizes will be drawn every Friday in July, beginning July 2. This incentive program aims to increase the current 58.2% vaccination rate (BHC residents age 18+) to 75% by July 29, 2021.
COVID-19June is National Healthy Homes Month. This year's theme is The Power of Partnerships. The Black Hawk County Health Department is pleased to partner with Waterloo Community Development on the Healthy Homes Program. This Waterloo-based program consists of a series of in-home assessments, focusing on 29-health hazards, as well as a lead assessment.
